Member Spotlight: Marilyn Diaz, Owner of Children Milestones
Yearly supplemental workforce funding would make a meaningful difference for child care providers like me. A $12,000 yearly budget increase would allow me to pay my employees a better living wage and help improve the overall quality of our program. With additional workforce support, providers would be better able to recruit and retain qualified staff while continuing to provide safe and high-quality care for children.
In addition, I strongly support funding the Child Care Assistance Program and eliminating the child care waiting list. If funding increases help remove the waiting list, we would be able to enroll children in our programs much more quickly. This would allow children to access care on time, help parents return to work sooner, and ensure that child care programs like ours can remain open and financially stable while serving our communities.
