When We Move Together, We Cannot Be Ignored

Dear Parents, Providers, and Advocates,

I want to begin by thanking our providers and our parents for standing with ECE on the Move. In our recent actions to protect the Child Care Assistance Program and fight for supplemental wages, we showed what real unity looks like. That was not just advocacy—that was power.

We are the Family Child Care Community. Providers—working every day in residential settings, carrying the responsibility of care, education, and stability for our children. Parents—trusting us, standing with us, and raising your voices alongside ours. Together, we are one.

And when we move together, we cannot be ignored.

Right now, the City is moving forward with the rollout of the new 2-K system—starting with thousands of seats for 2-year-olds and plans to expand across New York City.  Decisions are being made now that will shape the future of child care for both providers and families.

We must be part of that. We cannot afford to be left out, overlooked, or spoken for. So I am calling on all of us—providers and parents—to stay engaged. Stay connected. Ask questions. Speak up. Show up.

Because this is not just about a program. This is about our future, our work, and our children. And together, we are not just part of the system—we are the force that will shape it.
