Our Rally Was a Powerful Demonstration, But Our Work Is Not Finished

Dear Parents, Providers, and Advocates,

To every child care provider, parent, advocate, and ally who stood with us at “Imagine a Day Without Child Care”—thank you.

Your presence sent a powerful message: Child care is not a luxury. It is a necessity. It allows parents to work, children to learn and grow, and communities to thrive.

When child care is unavailable, everything is affected. Families are forced to make impossible choices, educators struggle to keep their doors open, and children lose the stable, nurturing environments they need.

Although our rally was a powerful demonstration of solidarity, our work is not finished.

We are continuing to fight for a city budget that reflects the true needs of children, families, and early childhood educators. Providers deserve fair compensation. Parents deserve affordable, reliable care. Children deserve every opportunity to succeed.

Too many families remain on waiting lists, uncertain whether they will receive the support they need. Too many providers are operating under extraordinary financial pressure, wondering how much longer they can continue.

But we are not giving up.

Every call, every meeting, every rally, and every voice raised brings us closer to the child care system our city deserves.

Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for believing in this work. And thank you for continuing to fight for a future where universal child care is available to every family and every child. Stay connected. Stay engaged. Stay strong.
