After 25 years as a family child care educator, I know firsthand what happens when this workforce is not properly supported. Too many educators give their lives to this work and leave with little stability, little security, and few protections after years of service.

Today, as I work closely with parents, I see the stress families are under while sitting on child care waiting lists. Parents are afraid of losing their jobs, falling behind on rent, struggling to feed and clothe their children, and losing access to basic stability for their families. The fear and uncertainty are real.

I want legislators to understand that the lack of child care creates a domino effect. Parents are forced to miss work, reduce hours, or leave the workforce entirely, leading many families into financial crisis and deeper dependence on public assistance. This does not only affect individual families, it affects workplaces, communities, and the economy as a whole. This is bigger than a waiting list. This is about the future of America and making sure educators and families are not left behind.
