ECEOTM Meets With Mayor Zohran Mamdani in a Member's Family Child Care Home

ECE on the Move was honored to welcome Mayor Zohran Mamdani to the family child care program in the Bronx of our member, Mercedes Mulholland, where he sat down with educators for an honest conversation about the realities of providing care in our communities. Joined by ECE on the Move Co-Founder Doris Irizarry and many of our members, providers shared their experiences caring for New York City's children while discussing the need for stronger financial support for the workforce and a child care assistance system that families can actually access without unnecessary delays.

The conversation was thoughtful, candid, and encouraging. Educators left feeling heard and hopeful that the Mayor's willingness to listen directly to providers and families will lead to meaningful action and continued investments that strengthen family child care in future city budgets.
